Bath / bed hoist for adults with disabilities
Cerebral Palsy Association (Western Cape)
Hoist: Proposed Intervention and Benefits.
A hoist is a 'mobile lifter" Hoists assist the disabled people at Rosedon House, also the carers who look after them by alleviating the impact of lifting heavy weights. In fact, it is not even possible for carers to lift most of the residents at Rosedon because they are too heavy. It is unsafe for both beneficiary and carer. Without the use of a hoist, more and more residents at Rosedon would become confined to their beds. The hoist drastically improves their quality of life - both mentally and physically.
Hoists can be wheeled throughout the centre and can even be folded if not in use.
The current hoist needs regular repairs. Transferring Rosedon beneficiaries to and from the toilet, the bath, the bed, the wheelchair is dependent on the use of a hoist.
We would really appreciate every Micro-donation in order to achieve our goal.
